Our Story

CIST African Foundation was founded in 2019 by a group of passionate educators, scientists, and community leaders who shared a common vision: to create a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive in STEM. Since then, we have grown from a small grassroots initiative to a dynamic organization with a wide-reaching impact.

We believe in a hands-on, experiential approach to learning that empowers students to explore, create, and discover. Through interactive workshops, mentorship programs, and community events, we aim to make STEM education engaging, accessible, and inclusive for all.

Over the years, we have had the privilege of witnessing the transformative power of STEM education in the lives of countless individuals. From sparking a lifelong interest in science to opening doors to new opportunities and careers, our programs have made a tangible difference in communities across Kenya

CIST exposes girls to higher learning, including engineering and science-related courses at tertiary level institutions, providing them with a clear view of available STEM professions. Additionally, the organization familiarizes girls with tertiary learning environments, particularly in Engineering, Applied Sciences, and Technology fields, to demystify the transition to higher education.

We connect classroom learning with real-world applications, allowing girls to witness how STEM concepts are utilized in practical work environments. Moreover, the organization hosts Science and Engineering Fairs, promoting STEM engagement and highlighting the importance of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
